METRO Manila traffic was at its worst situation on Fridays and college basketball star Kiefer Ravena was among those who went for public transportation, hoping to avoid the stress.

On Friday afternoon, the Ateneo star, in a casual white shirt, dark blue shorts and black sneakers, took the train from Katipunan to Mendiola for the Blue Eagles' tune-up game against the San Beda Red Lions scheduled at 6 p.m.

Along with the team physical therapist and his cousin, Ravena boarded at Katipunan station, near Ateneo, and alighted at Legarda station, which is a stone throw away from San Beda.

“Nakita ko kanina sobrang traffic, ayaw ko sa traffic kaya nag-LRT ako at least andito na ako,” he told Spin.ph.

“Wala, ayaw ko kasi (suungin) ang traffic, eh kaya sumakay ako sa LRT Katipunan tapos baba sa Legarda walkathon to Beda,” he laughed.

The reigning UAAP MVP is quite lucky. Not only did he avoid the gridlock below, but he also avoided the usual rush of people trying to get into the normally crowded trains by travelling in non-peak hours.

What could've easily been a two-hour car ride turned into a breezy 25-minute travel for the cage star.

“Wala ngang tao kanina eh,” he shared. “Okay naman.”
