A SPRAINED left ankle had made Kevin Ferrer a doubtful starter for University of Santo Tomas in a game against reigning champion De La Salle in the UAAP men's basketball tournament on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Ferrer suffered the injury ahead of the rematch between last year's finalists. If he plays at all, coaches doubt if the UST star can play at full strength.
Ferrer is averaging 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a steal for the Tigers this season.
The Tigers are aiming to improve their 3-2 win-loss record against the Archers, who are looking to wrap up their first round campaign on a winning note.
