Kenneth Duremdes rues untimely ‘T’ that broke Falcons’ endgame momentum against Eagles

KEY players log major minutes and the young inexperienced bench could not deliver the needed support, but Adamson coach Kenneth Duremdes said compounding their woes were several ‘questionable’ developments especially during the endgame against Ateneo.

“Nagkaroon talaga ng collapse dahil again, pagod na ’yung mga key players mo, at ’yung bench scoring is, again, very poor. Doon kami natatamaan. Once na mag-rotate kami ng tao, wala ng nag-tetake charge. Nakikita namin na pagdating sa fourth, pagod na,” said Duremdes.

But the PBA great said what broke their momentum when the Falcons tried to build a comeback were some calls that led to a 67-52 loss on Saturday, their 13th in 13 games.

“Every time that we have a run, may nangyayari na questionable for us,” said Duremdes when asked by reporters about the technical foul called against the Falcons in the fourth for improper bench decorum.

“But again, judgment call lang ’yan ng mga referee,” Duremdes added.

After the technical foul, the Blue Eagles went on a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter and ran away with the victory.

“Sometimes to us as coaches, that will stop ’yung momentum. The momentum shifts to the other side. Mahirap para sa players na pinaghirapan nila ’yung every possession and then something happens just like that na biglang lalayo. But again, part of the game, nangyayari talaga ’yung ganun. Kapag sinabi nilang judgment call, that’s it, wala na kaming magagawa,” said Duremdes.

Adamson is still hoping someone would deliver and help Don Trollano and Jansen Rios offensively.

“We are still looking for that spark guy na magbibigay ng lift sa dalawa (Trollano and Rios),” said Duremdes.
