KEAN Baclaan is out for the rest of the UAAP Season 88 men's basketball tournament due to an MCL tear.
La Salle coach Topex Robinson confirmed the unfortunate news to SPIN.ph on Thursday morning, as the injury bug continues to bite hard on the Green Archers.
Robinson shared that Baclaan's recovery will take him at least eight weeks, meaning that he won't be able to play for the remainder of the ongoing tourney, putting an abrupt end to his first year in Taft Ave.
Baclaan hurt his right knee when University of the East forward Wello Lingolingo accidentally fell on him on a mad scramble for the ball at the 4:20 mark of the fourth quarter.

The flamboyant guard was stretchered back to the dugout and left the SM Mall of Asia Arena on a wheelchair, immediately undergoing MRI at the Makati Medical Center on Wednesday evening.
Even with Baclaan no longer returning, La Salle gutted out the 111-110 overtime win to hike its record to an even 3-3 win-loss record.

The Muntinlupa native just recently recovered from a calf injury he had been dealing with to start the season and had cost him to sit out the Green Archers' game against Far Eastern University last Oct. 1.
He was averaging 10.2 points on 34-percent shooting from the field, to go with 4.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 21 minutes of play through five games.

This is the latest in what has been a nightmarish campaign so far for La Salle which also lost Mason Amos last game due to, curiously, the same MCL injury on the same knee.
