DE La Salle coach Juno Sauler said he is ready for any eventuality after the Green Archers were eliminated from the Final Four race of UAAP Season 78 on Wednesday night.

Two years after the Taft-based school won a championship against University of Santo Tomas under Sauler, the Green Archers hit a low point after failing to make the semis for the first time since 2011 with a 71-68 loss to Far Eastern University on Wednesday.

La Salle wound up with a 6-8 (win-loss) card after blowing a 15-point lead against the Tamaraws, enabling National University to take the final spot in the Final Four.

The early elimination is expected to put into question Sauler’s future with the team, especially with former PBA champion coach Siot Tanquingcen joining the La Salle coaching staff at the start of the season.

But the soft-spoken La Salle coach said he isn't concerned about his future, saying, “I live in the present. I don’t know what happens in the future.”

Sauler said he’s ready for whatever the school does next.

“You always have to be ready for the future. If you are not ready for the future, malaking problema ‘yun,” he stressed.

Sauler, however, said he is looking forward though to next season with the Archers especially with star player Jeron Teng already expressing his intention to return and play his fifth and final year with the school.

“I’m sure those guys who will have one year left, they don't want to finish or graduate for La Salle with this kind of ending. I'm sure they are hoping for a better ending.

"With Jeron coming back, probably we will get to influence the other guys and come up with a better showing next year," said Sauler.
