JUNEL Baculi is being eyed to be the commissioner of the UAAP basketball tournament in Season 81, sources told SPIN.ph.
Baculi is being endorsed by host National University, sources said, along with UAAP executive director Rebo Saguisag, who served as commissioner of the basketball tournament for the two seasons.
The host school has the prerogative of choosing the commissioner of the seniors, women’s, and juniors basketball tournaments. The seniors basketball tournament will open sometime in September.
A multi-titled head coach in the amateur leagues and a former national coach, Baculi previously worked for NU as its athletic director and representative to the UAAP board.
Baculi was also a former head coach of GlobalPort and Barako Bull in the PBA.
