Jun Manzo cleared of any major injury but still uncertain for UP game vs UST

Jun Manzo ended up with a high ankle sprain and remains uncertain to play for UP's next game vs UST.

JUN Manzo can heave a sigh of relief after X-rays revealed the University of the Philippines point guard didn't suffer any fracture or dislocation in his injured right ankle.

UP coach Bo Perasol said Manzo had an X-ray on Monday that ruled out any serious injury for their prized guard after an awkward fall in UP's loss to National University over the weekend.

"X-ray shows no fracture/dislocation. Only signs of high ankle sprain. Achilles and other structures are okay as well," Perasol said.

Perasol, however, said he is still keeping an eye on Manzo's condition and will check in practice whether he will be able to play on Wednesday against University of Santo Tomas.

"I will check sa ensayo kung ano ang lagay niya," Perasol said.

In seven games with the Maroons, Manzo is averaging 11.7 points, 3.2 assists in his first season with UP after transferring from University of Visayas.
