REINHARD Jumamoy knows that he's having the best showing in his collegiate career this UAAP Season 89.
The fact that he's leading the MVP race in his fourth year in Jhocson only humbles the Cebuano guard.
"Nagbubunga din yung mga tinatrabaho ko," Jumamoy, who finished the first round as the top local thanks to his averages of 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals, told Spin.ph on Monday.
That puts him in line to become only the second National U player to win the plum after Ray Parks.

Of course, playing well individually is just part of it.
Jumamoy takes bigger pride that his ascent also coincides with the Bulldogs rise as they sit at the top of the standings at 5-2.
"Syempre di pwede na ako lang. Yun naman ang turo sa amin ni coach Jeff [Napa], na sama-sama kaming aangat sa team," he said.
Still, Jumamoy knows that nothing is set in stone yet halfway through the eliminations and it's up to him and the rest of the squad to keep this pace up with the opposition sure to zero in on him come the second round.
"Di pa tapos yung season and may goal kaming hinahabol. Di ko rin naman kayang mag-isa so magtatrabaho lang din kami ng team para umabot kami doon," said the former Juniors MVP.
"Hindi naman madaling makukuha yan eh, so dapat mas magsikap pa kami."
