JUAN Gomez de Liano revealed he suffered a chest injury in practice that almost forced him to sit out University of the Philippines' game against Adamson on Wednesday.

"I wasn’t supposed to play. I got hit on the chest. Super sakit, mga eight out of 10. I had checkup this morning, had acupuncture and it helped a bit," he said.

"I did my best. I played through pain talaga. My PT knows how bad it was. I played the whole game and I’m just glad I did. I really wanted to help my teammates."

Gomez de Liano scored 21 points to go with eight rebounds and two assists, but that still wasn't enough to save the Diliman side from a third straight defeat, 69-68, at the hands of Adamson.
