JOSHUA Sinclair is out for UAAP Season 79 after suffering an ACL tear in his right knee.
Sinclair said he suffered the season-ending injury during the Bulldogs’ game against La Salle last October 19, but he hopes to be back in top shape in time for next year’s preseason tournaments.
“It’s an ACL tear. Six months I’m out. Hopefully, I can play in the Filoil (Cup), I hope I can play but it’s still a maybe,” said the rookie recruit from Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.
Sinclair said the pain has already subsided after undergoing surgery.
“It’s bearable. I have no choice but to go through it. But it definitely hurts,” said Sinclair, who already underwent surgery in his right knee.
Still, Sinclair is keeping his spirits up, saying the long break will allow him to prepare even better for next season.
Time is definitely on his side.
“I’m still young. I’m looking forward to next season. It will give me a chance to work on other things like upper body strength,” said Sinclair.
“Once I can run again, I can work on my shooting. It is also an opportunity for me,” said the former 3x3 national youth team player.
