JERSON Prado of University of the Philippines will miss the rest of the UAAP Season 78 after suffering a medial cruciate ligament tear in his right knee, UP assistant coach Allan Gregorio confirmed on Monday.
Gregorio said Prado will miss eight months as he also sustained a slight tear in his anterior cruciate ligament.
Prado sustained the injury during UP’s loss to Adamson on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The rookie was emerging as a quality big man for the Maroons, averaging 4.1 rebounds per game, the third best rebounder of the squad.
On Sunday, Prado already had nine rebounds along with four points against the Falcons before suffering the injury.
