DE LA Salle star Jeron Teng took to Twitter to air his dismay over National University cager Jeff Javillonar's hit that led to a shoulder injury to Teng's brother, University of Santo Tomas star Jeric, on Wednesday.
Reacting to the injury of his elder brother, Jeron didn't seem surprised that the incident involved Javillonar, who incidentally was his former teammate in the Philippine youth team.
“I know it’s no accident. I’ve known him since RP youth days,” wrote Jeron on his Twitter account @jeronteng.
Prior to that, Jeron also wrote: “I hope my brother’s okay.. Jeff Javillonar, you are a (expletive).” He had since deleted the tweet.
The elder Teng suffered a right shoulder injury in University of Santo Tomas’ game against National University when he was hit from behind by Javillonar in the second quarter.
He later aired the view that the hit was deliberate, saying, "Ang message ko sa kanya, 'May araw rin siya.' ‘Yun ang message ko sa kanya. Sa kanya rin babalik ‘yun.” (For full story, click 'May araw rin sya:' Teng hits out at NU's Javillonar after suffering shoulder injury)
The injury was so serious at that time that Jeric had to sit the entire second half in the Tigers’ 67-71 loss to the Bulldogs at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. He was scheduled to have a check-up on Thursday afternoon.
In a separate talk with Spin.ph, Javillonar insisted the hit was not deliberate as he apologized to Teng. (For full story, read Apologetic NU bruiser Javillonar insists hit that led to Teng injury not intentional)
