FINALS MVP Jeron Teng’s mindset heading into Game Two of the UAAP Season 79 finals was simple — to make it his last as a Green Archer and walk away from La Salle a champion.
The La Salle star declared his intent ahead of Wednesday’s game and he backed up his bold words as he matched his season-high 28 points, leading La Salle to sweep the best-of-three championship series against Ateneo with a 79-72 win.

“I wanted today to be my last game and it happened,” Teng said.
Teng erupted for 19 points for the Green Archers in the first half, helping La Salle take a 45-35 lead at the break. Ateneo could only come as close as six the rest of the way, thanks to Teng’s heroic efforts to douse every Blue Eagle rally.
“I’m more than blessed from what I’m feeling right now,” said Teng.
Teng wrapped up his La Salle career with two championships, the first in 2013 when he faced University of Santo Tomas, which was then led by his brother Jeric. The younger Teng, though, insisted both titles bear equal weight for him.
“I can say the two championships were different. The first, it was my first one and it was against my brother. This is also different because I’m a senior right now and winning the two championships, two different stories. Both were memorable,” Teng said.
