JERIE Pingoy will play in an Ateneo-backed team that will see action in the Fiba 3x3 World Tour Asia Pacific leg in Manila from July 19 to 20 at SM Megamall.

Ateneo team manager Epok Quimpo confirmed that Pingoy will be joined by players from the school’s Team B in one of the four Philippine squads set to compete in the 3x3 competition to be held in Manila for the first time.

The Pingoy-led Ateneo side will take the place of Blue Eagles rookies Arvin Tolentino and Thirdy Ravena who will not be available since the event organized by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) will coincide with the highly-anticipated UAAP men’s basketball game between Ateneo and De La Salle.

Tolentino and Ravena were members of the Philippine team that made waves in the Fiba 3x3 Under-18 World Championship last year along with La Salle's Prince Rivero and high school sensation Kobe Paras.
