JERIE Pingoy rode the bench in Adamson’s 90-76 win over University of the East as a disciplinary action after coming in late at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

“Well, disciplinary action, he was late for the game so he’s gonna sit on the bench,” said coach Franz Pumaren after the Falcons' second win in as many games this season.

Pingoy was quick to admit his mistake but explained that he got caught by a traffic jam on the way to Pasay. The shifty guard said he left their Antipolo home at 10:30 a.m.

“Na-late din ako kasi umuwi ako sa bahay e,” he said. “Okay naman, wala namang problema sa kanya (coach Pumaren).”

The Falcons' starting point guard said he is also dealing with plantar fasciitis on his right foot and recurring pain caused by bone spurs on his left foot.

However, the Cebuano guard said his injuries won’t keep him out of games.

“Oo naman. Maglalaro pa rin ako next game, kailangan ko lang ipahinga kasi ang sakit talaga ng paa ko. Hindi naman pwede na puro injection lalong mabubugbog yung paa ko,” he said. “After ng season, ooperahan na naman ako yun na naman mangyayari same from last December.”

Pingoy vowed not to be late again for a game and aims to atone in their next match against University of Santo Tomas on Saturday, 2 p.m., at Araneta Coliseum.

“Hindi na. Bawi na lang next game, ganun talaga,” he said.
