FORMER University of Santo Tomas star Jeric Teng feels for his younger brother Jeron after the defending champion La Salle was dethroned by Far Eastern University, 67-64, on Wednesday.

After the crowd has left and the lights went out inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the whole Teng family waited patiently for Jeron although the mood was as dim as the venue.

Their mother, Susan, has tears welling in her eyes and father Alvin, a former PBA player, was forlornly deciphering the stats sheet looking for answers on what went wrong for La Salle.

Jeric, who was the one consoled by his brother when he and his Tigers lost to the Green Archers in the finals last year, said he feels for his brother.

"Ramdam ko 'yung sakit, kasi last year naramdaman ko na ang matalo (sa Finals)," he told Spin.ph.

Jeron, who was last year's Finals MVP, failed to carry the Green Archers back to the title match as he finished the match with 13 points, four rebounds and six assists.

"Mas masakit nga ngayon eh," said Jeric. "Kasi at least last year kahit natalo ako, nanalo naman siya (Jeron) eh ngayon wala talaga, talo talaga kami."
