Jed Mendoza is the latest player to take his act to Recto, with the sweet-shooting guard ready to suit up for UAAP Season 82 later this year.
Sources confirmed Mendoza has committed to UE over the weekend.
The 21-year-old sniper has been the lone shining light for Jose Rizal University's campaign last year, averaging 15.8 points on a 41-percent shooting, to go with 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists back in NCAA Season 94.
Unfortunately, his efforts could not translate into victories, with the Heavy Bombers finishing dead-last with their 3-15 win-loss card.
The 6-foot guard has since taken his act to the PBA D-League, where he currently norms 6.4 points on 42-percent clip, alongside 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in seven games with Marinerong Pilipino.
Mendoza is the latest player to reinforce the Red Warriors after two-time Cesafi MVP Rey Suerte.
The two will both play their lone UAAP year this season.
Their entry continues UE’s major overhaul after parting ways with Alvin Pasaol.
Senegalese center Adama Diakhite banners the new faces for the Red Warriors, together with Fil-Kiwi forward Richie Rodger, ex-Ateneo center John Apacible and rookies Harvey Pagsanjan of Hope Christian High School and Niel Tolentino of Letran.
Only four players will return from last year's squad, namely Philip Manalang, Chris Conner, Allan Beltran and Jojo Antiporda.
