YOUNG Javi Gomez De Liano is glad to contribute in a big way for University of the Philippines, but knows it’s still not enough.
Four players scored in double figures for the Maroons, including the 18-year-old former UPIS standout, but UP continued its losing run and absorbed its third loss in as many games, bowing to University of Sto. Tomas.

“Our coach said kulang pa. But it’s a good effort,” said Gomez De Liano after delivering 12 points in 15 minutes of action.
The Maroons were without Dave Moralde and Gelo Vito were out due to injuries.
“Our veterans Dave and Gelo didn’t play this game because they were injured. I have to step up in this game. We have to do their part. I just felt that I needed to step up,” said Gomez De Liano.
Gomez De Liano said the coaches’ belief in him sparked his output.
“Coach gave me a chance to give me minutes. Coming to the fourth, he chose to let me in. I did my part,” said Gomez De Liano.
