THE two losses at the start of Season 77 didn’t really dampen the spirits of the La Salle Green Archers but actually fueled their desire to get back, according to Jason Perkins.
The Archers heaved a sigh of relief as Perkins kept the defending champions from falling to a third defeat in a 57-55 squeaker over National University on Wednesday.
The left-handed Perkins had 14 points including clutch baskets that finally gave the Taft-based squad something to cheer about.
“It was kinda tough but it didn’t hinder our attitude. We are still looking to play better,” said Perkins.
“It wasn’t just me. The team did a good job moving the ball around and rotating the ball. We were just playing as a team,” said Perkins, adding that they never entertained thoughts of slipping to a 0-3 hole.
“I wasn’t really thinking about it. We just want to execute. As long as we executed, there will be a good result,” said Perkins.
Now on the win column, La Salle will be looking to even their win-loss record when the Archers face the UE Red Warriors on Sunday.
