CHICAGO - Five-star high school prospect Jared Bahay is "considering other opportunities to pursue in the next level of his basketball career," multiple sources told SPIN.ph.
Last March 30, with much fanfare befitting a blue-chip talent, the shifty 5-foot-9 point guard announced his commitment to play for the UP Fighting Maroons.

That has since changed.
"He is focusing his time and energy into graduating high school for now," a source with close ties with the Batang Gilas ace said on the condition of anonymity.
Bahay is currently a Grade 12 student of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu. He hasn't enrolled for college yet.
Ranked No. 1 in the NBTC's Class of 2023, Bahay capped his storied high school career by leading the Magis Eagles to their straight Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) title, winning a tightly-contested best-of-three championship showdown versus the University of the Visayas last December 16.
In Game 3 of that series, his final game, Jared finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and a block to lift Ateneo de Cebu past the UV Baby Lancers.
With blazing speed, court vision, high basketball IQ, and a reliable 3-point shot, the 18-year old is widely regarded as the best high school player in the country.
Bahay is also an experienced international campaigner and has played for Gilas Youth in the FIBA U16 and U18 tournaments where he has combined average of 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
