San Beda moving from one league to another has long been rumor mill fodder, with many believing that the Mendiola side, owners of 24 NCAA seniors championships, have what it takes to compete in the UAAP.

The last time such move happened was four decades ago when La Salle withdrew from the NCAA in the 1980-81 season and joined the UAAP in 1986.

There's no clarity as of now if the Red Lions have, indeeed, filed an application to the UAAP or submitted a letter of withdrawal from the NCAA in the first place.

This wasn't necessarily what came out of his mouth just minutes before during the TV broadcast when he loudly and proudly exclaimed he was 'eager to run it back' with the Red Lions.
