LOOKS like there’s room for just one ‘ball hog’ in the Pasaol clan.

Janrey Pasaol cut himself loose from the shadows of his kuya Alvin in terms of making a name for himself as an unselfish playmaker.

FEU’s top scoring gun after Round 1 had a season-high 13 assists to go with his 15-piece in their second round-opening 75-68 win over Ateneo on Wednesday.

This, coming from norming 6.57 dimes in the first round, where he also recorded 10 in the Tamaraws' last game.

Looks like he’s out to rebrand the Pasaol name as far as that part of the game goes.

“Kuya ko lang ’yun,” Janrey answered in jest when asked by SPIN.ph if he's a super scorer just like Alvin.

“‘Yung time na ‘yun, alam kong naka-blitz ‘yung Ateneo, so kailangan kong i-give up ‘yung bola.

Alvin once dropped a 49-piece on Ben Mbala's La Salle side back in October 2017 - and while Janrey would be the first to admit it'd be a tall task to even come close to that, his 13 assists in this one led to at least 39 markers for the Tamaraws.

Close enough, right?

Just do your own thing, Janrey

With that, it looks like little brother Pasaol is big on proving that there’s more to his game than just making buckets.

Also along with that newfound confidence comes an active recognition of the need to devise new ways on making his presence felt on the court as much more of marked man the rest of the way.

Yabang eh no,” he said.
