NATIONAL University finds its UAAP Season 80 campaign on an early tailspin after suffering its third straight loss following a 2-1 start.

The Bulldogs, among the expected contenders in the preseason, have lost three in a row after bowing to Ateneo, 83-96, on Saturday.

But NU coach Jamike Jarin is not about to press the panic button just yet.

"We’re still in it," Jarin told reporters shortly after the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"Probably we just need to gather our thoughts and rest a bit and we got UP to prepare for."

Jarin said there was no actual downgrade as far as their performance is concerned. Things just didn't go their way in the crucial moments during those three losses.

"Well if you look at the three losses that we had, we were in the game," said the NU tactician, whose team also lost to Far Eastern University and Adamson.

"Like what you said, a lot of expectations. Things could only just get better."

Eventually, Jarin hopes the Bulldogs regain their bite when they end the first round against the Fighting Maroons.

"Let’s just dust up ourselves, get back, and keep this train moving," he said.
