JACK Cruz-Dumont has his sights set on turning pro in the Philippines as his UAAP run came to an end.
University of the East’s 6-foot-3 Fil-Canadian playmaker capped his two-year stint with the Red Warriors with a sorry 55-68 loss to Adamson in the playoff for the final spot in the UAAP Final Four.
The son of former MBA player John Dumont paced the Warriors in the season-ending defeat with 15 points, four boards and four assists on 6-of-10 shooting.

“It’s been a privilege to play in the UAAP. I'll look back on my experience [realizing that the] UAAP is unlike any other league. I’m glad I got to be a part of it and got to experience this,” the UE captain said.
“My brothers [Hunter and Cole] will have more opportunities next year and I’ll always be part of the UE community.”
JCD’s here to stay
Dumont averaged 6.2 points, three rebounds and 2.1 assists in 20:20 minutes of play in the Season 87 elimination round. But he averaged 14.5 points, four assists and 3.5 rebounds in the team's last two games - both losses to UP and Adamson.
The Red Warriors may have dropped the ball on a 5-2 start to the season with a 1-6 finish to prelims play, but Cruz-Dumont is eager to keep a firm hold of his Philippine basketball career moving forward.

Settling unfinished business, may it be in the PBA or the MPBL, is a journey he’s eager to embark on very soon.
“My plan is to play professionally in the Philippines. I’m gonna take it one step at a time and I’m just looking forward to continuing to play basketball in the Philippines.”
