NO less than the captain of University of the East’s ship in Jack Cruz-Dumont knows the Red Warriors still have enough tricks up their sleeves in UAAP Season 87.
READ: Coach Jack Santiago always believed UE can - so UE did
Cruz-Dumont and the Red Warriors now find themselves in joint fourth place, having split their first four assignments with opening defeats to UST and UP topped by bounce-back wins over FEU and La Salle.

While their most recent win over the defending champions has been the season’s biggest upset yet, the departing Fil-Canadian ace is convinced such a surprise victory isn’t a one-off.
Two days since their 75-71 rout of the Green Archers, the 23-year-old skipper shared how much their biggest UAAP win to date means.
“It’s good momentum for a team. It was important for us to show ourselves that we can beat any team,” Cruz-Dumont shared to SPIN.ph.
New breed of Warriors
Things have changed for the Red Warriors quite significantly since Cruz-Dumont joined UE.
A shocking offseason player exodus led by UP-bound Rey Remogat took place before the arrival of new stars bannered by one of UE’s leading scorers in John Abate and Jack’s younger brother Hunter then followed.

Now in their first win streak since Round 2 of Season 86, it’s all about moving on and moving forward for the Red Warriors and see where it all goes from there.
“After an 0-2 start, we just learn and move on, and take it game by game,” Cruz-Dumont said.
