NATIONAL University coach Eric Altamirano was quick to praise Adamson’s defense for holding two of the Bulldogs top scorers in J-Jay Alejandro and Rev Diputado scoreless in Wednesday’s loss to the Falcons.
J-Jay Alejandro and Rev Diputado, averaging 11.7 points combined entering the match, both laid eggs on the score sheet as the Bulldogs dropped a 64-51 loss to the Falcons at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Altamirano lauded Adamson’s great defensive effort particularly on the two guards who missed a combined nine shots in the contest, including five attempts from beyond the arc.
“Of course (we expect that). We have to give it to Adamson and coach Franz (Pumaren). They did a good job defending us,” said Altamirano.
With his team sliding to their second straight defeat, Altamirano hopes that the team has learned a lesson or two.
“La Salle and Adamson, lumabas ‘yung pagkabata ng team. We have to learn from these types of games,” said Altamirano.
