ROOKIE Anna Bartolome will still compete for University of the Philippines in time for the start of the UAAP swimming championships despite a motion for reconsideration was filed by the UAAP and her former high school University of Santo Tomas.

According to the media office of Sen. Pia Cayetano, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court judge has not issued a ruling on the motion for reconsideration filed by UAAP and UST, as of posting time.

The absence of a motion will pave the way for Bartolome to compete for the Lady Maroons at the start of the swimming competitions Thursday at the Trace Aquatics Center in Los Baños, Laguna.

Bartolome, son of former referee Vic Bartolome, has been given clearance by the courts to compete in the league this season after a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) was issued against the new rule for high school graduates moving to a different UAAP school to undergo a two-year residency period.

Bartolome has been included in UP’s line-up in the school’s bid for a fifth straight crown.
