Guillian Quines’ green dreams have finally come true.
The 6-foot guard is staying home, officially committing to La Salle for college on Monday afternoon.
"Sobrang dream come true talaga. Thankful lang ako at natupad ko 'yung pangarap ko," said Qiunes.
Quines made his commitment alongside his La Salle Green Hills head coach Renren Ritualo.
Also present during the commitment ceremony were team boosters Justice Andres Reyes, Atty. Mans Carpio, and Raffy Villavicencio.
Joining the Green Archers is truly a dream come true for Quines, who rose to prominence during the NCAA Season 100 Juniors Basketball Tournament.
The 18-year-old Las Piñas City native averaged an impressive 25.0 points, 5.38 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.77 steals per game, leading the Greenies to the Finals before falling to the Perpetual Altas in a hard-fought three-game series.
And he credited Ritualo, a La Salle legend, for his stellar Grade 12 year.
"Sobrang na-overwhelm ako kasi simula high school, ginabayan niya ako. Binigyan niya ako ng maraming advice at dinala ko 'yun buong season namin, at dadalhin ko rin sa La Salle," added Quines.
Now, Quines is ready to prove himself once again — this time on the collegiate stage.
In his rookie year, he will have the opportunity to learn under seasoned guards Jacob Cortez, Kean Baclaan, and JC Macalalag as he begins his next chapter with the Green Archers.
And he is looking forward to every practice with his seniors.
"Looking forward ako na makasama 'yung mga kuya ko. Idol ko silang lahat. Gagawin kong advantage na sa bawat ensayo namin, makikinig ako sa mga kuya ko. Napagdaanan na nila lahat, eh," he said.
"Ite-take advantage ko ito!"
