ALTHOUGH hurting inside, Karim Abdul was quick to accept the UAAP men’s basketball title this season was for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws.

“It’s ok, I mean there’s only one winner. It wasn’t meant for us,” explained the graduating big man as he stared blankly at the walls of the gloomy University of Santo Tomas dugout more than an hour after the team’s loss in the winner take all game at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

While son KR played around the team dressing room, the Cameroonian import was meek as a lamb in one corner, trying to grope for words as he came short again of winning a championship.

The fifth year center though, is not pointing a finger on anyone and said it was the breaks of the game that led to the Tigers’ 62-67 loss in the deciding Game Three of the title series.

“I don’t regret,” said Abdul, part of the same UST team that finished runner up behind Ateneo (2012) and La Salle (2013), respectively. “I gave what I could do, and the ways things are going back and forth, I can’t blame anyone.”

“I thank you all for your support and I’m going to miss you guys very much,” he said.
