GERMY Mahinay is a Growling Tiger no more and has made steps to make the Bulldogs roster.
The 6-foot-5 Mahinay has transferred from University of Sto. Tomas to National University, Spin.ph sources bared.
Mahinay packed his bags from Espana back in March and has been training in Jhocson for the past few weeks.
He averaged 4.5 points and 5.7 rebounds with UST this past UAAP Season 81 men's basketball tournament where he established himself as a no-nonsense bruiser for coach Aldin Ayo.
But that partnership just lasted for one year, as Mahinay played his final game for the black-and-gold in Feb. 18 in UST's 94-70 win over Batangas-EAC in the 2019 PBA D-League.
Mahinay will serve his residency in the coming season and is expected to be cleared to play for UAAP Season 83 in 2020.
This will be his third collegiate school for the former San Beda Red Cub, as he initially committed to Lyceum before taking his act to UST last year.
