COUNT Franz Pumaren in as one of the coaches backing Alvin Pasaol as he plans to make the jump to the pro ranks.
The five-time UAAP champion coach believes the University of the East star ripe for the PBA, and that there is a chance Pasaol would be taken in the first round.
“He's a hot commodity. I think he will be in the first round if he declares himself for the draft,” he added.
Pasaol has been averaging 24.8 points and 10 rebounds this season though it hasn’t translated into wins for the Red Warriors as they tote a lowly 1-12 record.
Still Pumaren believes that Pasaol is bound to do great things in the PBA, especially if he shapes up and tones down a bit.
“Kulang niya if you can just imagine, he is not probably what you call a fitness buff. He still has a little baby fat,” Pumaren said.
“If he puts his mind and get a good conditioning trainer, he'll be a player to watch even in the PBA.”
