"All we wanted was to win our last game in the first round. That was the very objective in this game and the players delivered," said team consultant Nash Racela, who stepped in for head coach Olsen Racela, who had prior commitments with Ginebra after the game.
It was a better version of FEU in this game as it wrested control of the game and grabbed 14-point leads, but Adamson ate those up and got to within five, 55-50, with 1:42 remaining in the third frame.
Torres, though, responded with a 13-2 blast to end the frame to resurrect the 68-52 lead heading into the fourth period, before Tchuente and L-Jay Gonzales locked the game up late.
Alec Stockton had his best game of the season with 10 points and three assists, while Gonzales had nine points, seven rebounfd, and four assists for the Tamaraws as they shot 40-percent from the field this time out.
"It wasnt easy to come back from our previous loss (to NU) where we shot 19-percent, and all of a sudden we doubled it in today's game," said Racela.
Adamson also fell to 3-4 in the standings with this defeat.
Valandre Chauca paced the Soaring Falcons with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two assisrsm while Jerrick Ahanmisi had 12 points and four boards.
