FAR Eastern University bowed to Sky Cable Iloilo, 86-76, in the championship game of the 2017 Iloilo National Invitational Championship at the Pototan Astrodome on Monday.
The Tamaraws settled for the runner-up trophy against a Sky Cable squad led by ex-PBA players like Leo Najorda in the pocket tournament which served as part of the school's preparation for the UAAP.
En route to the finals, FEU beat University of the Philippines in the semifinals. The Maroons had earlier won two offseason tournaments prior to joining the Iloilo tilt.
Hubert Cani won a place in the Mythical Five award in the tournament along with Paul Desiderio and Bright Akhuetie of UP, Najorda and Mahindra forward Mark Yee.
