FEU has been on a roll as of late, winning three games in a row after its 79-72 victory over University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday.
Tams head coach Nash Racela called the game against NU as an important one for their campaign this season.
“Tingin ko crucial ‘yun because we are all stacked up sa second place. I think if there is value to it, ‘yun ‘yon. But it’s a long season. We will just try to get as much wins as we can. We will give our best because NU is a tough team,” said Racela, wary of the surging Bulldogs balanced attack that has led them to nam two straight wins as well.
“May balance sa kanila offensively and defensively. Maganda rin ‘yung ball sharing nila. It will be a challenge for us,” he added.
The Bulldogs are coming off an 80-69 win over University of the Philippines last Saturday. But despite the easy win, head coach Eric Altamirano cited the need to play better against FEU.
“Wala ka talagang pipiliin dito eh. Lahat, they are capable of beating anybody. FEU has showed they can beat the top teams. We have to play better than how we played against UP,” said Altamirano.
The winner will occupy solo second place behind La Salle, which swept the first round of the elimination round.
