FAR Eastern University has a tough assignment as it tries to halt a losing run, while Ateneo is fancied to to extend its winning streak as it battles a lowly squad on Saturday in the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament at the MOA Arena.

The Tamaraws have lost two straight, bowing to the Adamson Falcons and Ateneo Blue Eagles, and risk stretching the skid as they battle the league-leading La Salle Green Archers in the 4 p.m. match.

The Blue Eagles, meanwhile, beat La Salle and FEU in succession and are heavily favored over also-ran University of Santo Tomas at 2 p.m.

"We'll take it one game at a time and focus on our opponent which is UST," said Ateneo assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga.

"Hopefully at the end of it all we come up with a good record."

FEU and Ateneo both hold 8-4 win-loss cards behind La Salle.

Although assured of the top spot with a 12-1 card, the Archers look to finish the eliminations with a big win and enter the semifinals on a bright note.
