IT’S a Far Eastern University gimmick that has easily caught the attention of the entire UAAP.
A part of the FEU gallery on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum was transformed into a sea of green as fans and supporters of the team flashed a green image from their cellphones and tablets as they cheer on the Tamaraws against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
Spin.ph asked around and later found out that the stunt has been going on since last year’s league finals between the Tamaraws and the National University Bulldogs.
The gimmick caught on when an FEU fan page encouraged its followers to download the green image on their gadgets as answer to NU’s light stick stunt.
As a way of supporting the Tamaraws, the fan would show and wave the image with the brightness of the gadget in full bright.
The act caught on again among FEU fans as the color green was visibly noticeable in the gallery during the game, which the Tamaraws won, 75-58, to catch up with idle Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas on top of the standings.
