MATTHEW Aquino has made the Adamson lineup for Season 77, following in the footsteps of his father and Falcons great Marlou Aquino.
The 6-foot-7 Aquino is one of 16 players in the team’s roster that the school will be submitting to the league for this season, according to a source who refused to be named.
The Lourdes School of Mandaluyong standout will officially join his father Marlou, who is one of the assistants of first-year head coach Kenneth Duremdes.
The elder Aquino suited up for the Falcons before being drafted in the PBA by Ginebra in 1996 and winning Rookie of the Year honors. The 6-9 former Adamson star played 15 seasons in the pro league.
Other Adamson rookies this year are Ivan Villanueva from Letran, Alex Barrera from La Salle Greenhills, and JR Gumtang from San Beda.
The Falcons holdovers include Don Trollano, Jansen Rios, Dawn Ochea, Ryan Monteclaro, and Axel Inigo.
Jericho Cruz, last year’s top scorer of the Falcons, is skipping his final playing year with Adamson as he applies for the PBA rookie draft set this August.
