ENCHO Serrano of Adamson leads the MVP race halfway into the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball tournament.
In only his first year with the Baby Falcons, the former Mapua Red Robin cager topped the statistical points race with 73.4286 total SPs after the first round to take the lead over Ateneo’s SJ Belangel with 70.5714 SPs.
Serrano was instrumental in leading the Baby Falcons to a 7-0 record after the first round, averaging 19.3 points and 8.1 rebounds for Adamson midway in the tournament.
Juan Gomez De Liano of University of the Philippines Integrated School is in third with 69.2857 SPs, while John Lloyd Clemente of National University placed fourth with 64.5714 SPs. Kenji Roman of Far Eastern University is in fifth with 60.1429 SPs.
Rounding out the top 10 are Gerry Austin Abadiano of Adamson (57.2857), Rhayyan Amsali of NU (53.8571), Inand Fornillos of University of Santo Tomas (53), Dave Ildefonso of Ateneo (52.4286), and Jack Gloria of FEU (52).
The league is currently on a holiday break before resuming play on January 14.
