DON Allado is looking forward to become part of a change in culture in Adamson after being hired by Franz Pumaren to join his coaching staff.
Allado said he was glad to get the call from Pumaren when the multi-titled collegiate coach was in search of members of the staff after being hired by the Falcons as their new head coach.
“When Coach Franz called me, I was very excited,” said Allado. “I’m very thankful that I got a call from Coach Franz. It’s an opportunity for me to grow, this time as a coach."
The 38-year-old Allado has moved into the coaching ranks after retiring from competitive basketball. As he makes the leap at a major coaching job, Allado said he is very excited to be reunited with Pumaren, seeing it as an opportunity for him to be part of a change in the Falcons.
Adamson has gone through lean years since its last Final Four appearance in 2011, but management is took a big leap by taking in Pumaren, who won five UAAP titles with De La Salle during his illustrious coaching career.
Pumaren is looking at nothing short of a major turnaround, and Allado is very much looking forward to be part of it.
“I know his system and being here to be part of a change in the culture, and what better way to do it than here in Adamson so I’m very excited,” said Allado, who won two championships with Pumaren at La Salle.
Allado will also be joining a former teammate at La Salle in Renren Ritualo.
