JASON Perkins had 16 points and 16 rebounds and De La Salle defeated Adamson, 66-57, on Sunday in the UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball tournament at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Green Archers got back to winning form against the Falcons after dropping their previous game against Far Eastern University as they join rival Ateneo at second spot both with 8-3 win-loss slates.
La Salle head coach Juno Sauler however, was far from impressed about the win.
The Archers won despite shooting just 1-of-17 from three-point range. La Salle also had a 23-8 lead in the first quarter but allowed Adamson to come close the rest of the way.
“We didn’t shoot very well from the floor. We had a lot of attempts at the three. We lack energy on the boards,” said Sauler.
“Adamson was aggressive today and were hustling on loose balls. Even in transition, we were slow,” he added.
Jeron Teng had 15 points and eight rebounds, while Almond Vosotros had 12 for La Salle, which stepped closer to clinching a Final Four spot.
Don Trollano finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds for Adamson, which is still winless in 11 games.
