ALREADY in the Final Four, La Salle is turning its focus on securing a twice-to-beat advantage and the Archers are not taking anyone lightly, even the skidding National University Bulldogs.

La Salle coach Aldin Ayo sees a tough outing against a much different NU squad, expecting Bulldogs coach Eric Altamirano to make more adjustments as they try to end a three-game slide in the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament.

"We were still guessing on what to do against NU in the first round," Ayo noted.

The Archers and Bulldogs clash at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

The Green Archers are unbeaten in nine games, with five games left in their elimination-round schedule.

Ben Mbala remains a double-double machine, while Jeron Teng has made a strong comeback from foot injury.

Still, Ayo believes they are far from top form.

"Puwede kong sabihin na nasa 77 percent na kami in terms of kung paano ko mai-rarank 'yung team," said Ayo.

The Bulldogs looked fine early in the season but have lost three straight games and now hold a 4-5 win-loss card, its latest setback a demoralizing 73-69 loss to cellar-dwelling University of Santo Tomas.

University of the East and Ateneo clash in the 12 p.m. game.

After going 0-6 to start the season, the Red Warriors have won two straight games following a 71-61 victory over UST last October 8.

UE, however, has not played a game since as the Red Warriors' match against Far Eastern University last Sunday was postponed due to typhoon Karen.
