"We are grateful to share that Divine Adili has safely returned home to Nigeria, where he was received by his family upon his arrival in Lagos," the statement read.

Adili's remains were received by his family after a four-day voyage, leaving Manila on Monday where it was accompanied by Fr. Sigmund “Munching” de Guzman, SJ.
"We also extend our sincere thanks to the Nigerian Embassy in Manila, whose Consul provided invaluable support throughout Divine's repatriation, helping ensure his safe and dignified journey home," the University wrote.
It was a gloomy homecoming for Adili who was supposed to play his sophomore year for the Blue Eagles, but perished in a drowning incident together with teammate Rene Baterbonia in Dipaculao, Aurora on June 8.
Baterbonia was buried in his hometown of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on Wednesday.
