DESPITE another stinging setback, De La Salle star Jeron Teng is not giving up on the Green Archers' Final Four bid.
Teng and the Green Archers suffered their second straight loss in the UAAP at the hands of National University, 73-81, and dropped to 5-6 (win-loss), just half-a-game ahead of the Bulldogs in the battle for fourth place.
But Teng said the team is not yet pushing the panic button, pointing out that their Final Four hopes is still very much in their hands.
“Kami naman, focused lang kami sa next games namin. We don’t really rely on others’ outcome but ‘yung sa games namin,” said Teng in a brief interview with reporters.
Teng had 25 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the field and got help from Andrei Caracut and Jason Perkins, who had 18 and 10 points respectively. Perkins also grabbed 15 rebounds.
Trailing 32-30 at the half, La Salle began the third quarter with a 13-0 run to storm ahead, 43-32. But NU responded by scoring 12 consecutive points to regain the momentum.
Teng said what they need to work on is defense.
“We have to move on. It’s not really our offense but our defense. First to third quarter, we did well sa defense. We need to work on it in the fourth quarter,” Teng said.
