PAUL Desiderio says University of the Philippines is doing fine in their preparations for the UAAP, despite an early exit from the preseason tournament Filoil Flying V Premier Cup.
UP was stopped in the quarterfinals by College of St. Benilde.
The Maroons have yet to be confirmed for another tuneup tournament and Desiderio says focus now is solely on the UAAP Season 81.
“Wala na. Eto na ata yung last liga na sinalihan namin, so preparation na para sa UAAP yung sunod,” Desiderio said.
“May bago kaming sistema na tinatakbo. Syempre nag-aadapt palang kami sa sistema pero naniniwala naman ako na pagdating sa UAAP nandun na yung maturity namin,” he said.
Against St. Benilde, Desiderio had 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
He hopes to be much better come UAAP Season 81, his last with the Maroons.
“Para sakin, syempre go hard na ’ko kasi yung nga, last UAAP season ko na so yung goal ko naman is makapasok kami ng Final Four. After ng Final Four, finals, yung little goals naman,” the 21-year old stated.
