Aljun Melecio, Marco Sario preside over emphatic De La Salle-Zobel win over UPIS

ALJUN Melecio had 22 points, Marco Sario contributed 19 points, and De La Salle-Zobel beat University of the Philippines Integrated School, 85-74, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 78 juniors basketball at the Filoil Flying V Arena.

The Junior Archers bucked a flat start, unleashing a 23-11 second quarter that put them for good, 41-35, at the half. La Salle was down, 18-24, after the first period.

La Salle stayed in second place behind unbeaten National University with a 9-2 win-loss card, two games ahead of Ateneo (7-4).

The Blue Eaglets leaned on Jolo Mendoza to beat University of the East, 96-58. Mendoza had 25 points for Ateneo.

The Junior Warriors remained winless in 11 games.

Standings: NU 11-0, DLSZ 9-2, ADMU 7-4, AdU 6-5, FEU 6-5, UST 3-8, UPIS 2-9, UE 0-11.
