THE management of the La Salle Green Archers put its full support behind head coach Aldin Ayo amid talk that he is being lured to move to University of Santo Tomas next season.

Speculations that Ayo may be headed to Espana to take over the UST spot vacated by Boy Sablan swirled during the last UAAP season and grew louder after the Green Archers' loss to rival Ateneo in the deficing game of the best-of-three finals.

La Salle management, however, made it clear it wants Ayo to lead the Green Archers' quest for redemption next season.

"Management is firmly behind coach Aldin Ayo and his staff as we start the process of rebuilding for the future," the team management said in a statement furnished SPIN.ph on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Green Archers will resume practice on January 16 under Ayo to begin preparation for the Philippine Collegiate Championship.

"We stand united as a team to regroup and regain the crown next season. We will reassemble to begin practice on Jan. 16 after the holidays and prepare for the PCCL National Collegiate Championships on Feb. 2-11," the statement said.

“We, the management, coaches, players and staff of the DLSU senior men's basketball team, are one in congratulating Ateneo for winning the UAAP championship this season. While we fell short of retaining the title, we are humbled by the overwhelming response of both Ateneo and DLSU in the way we accepted defeat in the spirit of sportsmanship with heads unbowed."
