DE LA Salle has finally made it official, naming Aldin Ayo as the new head coach of the men’s basketball team.
La Salle made the appointment official on Wednesday, saying that Ayo emerged following deliberation from a search committee and consultation from the school’s administration and alumni.
“The University welcomes Coach Aldin to the Lasallian community as he charts the new direction of the Green Archers,” said La Salle in its statement.
Ayo led Letran to the NCAA Season 91 championshp in his first year with the Knights. A month later, Ayo replaced Juno Sauler as Green Archers head coach following a meeting with the team’s chief patron Eduardo ‘Danding’ Cojuangco earlier this month.
Ayo later confirmed the move in an interview with Spin.ph, saying the reasons behind the decision was 'personal.'
Last week, Ayo also decided that he will no longer seek for a third term as councilor of Sorsogon City.
