THE brawl between La Salle and Far Eastern University could have taken an uglier turn, as a second video of the scuffle surfaced on social media late on Friday showed a different perspective of the fight.
A Facebook user named Eno Barona uploaded the video of the second incident which prompted the officials to stop the match for good.
Ricci Rivero was at the forefront of the incident as the video shows the rising La Salle star pulling a ‘combo’ on Tamaraws forward Barkly Ebona who was shoved to the floor in front of him.
From the video posted, the younger Rivero was seen throwing the ball hard on Ebona before following it up with a punt kick on the Cebuano.
Rivero then chased after Ebona, even landing a punch in that sequence before being completely separated from the rest of the melee. He was then quick to turn into pacifier after taking a hit and ending up at the baseline with an FEU cager.
A separate video obtained by SPIN.PH shows the fight on a different angle, with Ebona sprawling down from a hard shove off a back screen by Ricci’s brother Prince, causing him to fall right in front of Ricci who immediately went all-in on Ebona.
That video also caught several people from the La Salle bench entering the court holding monobloc chairs and an unidentified La Salle player holding what looked like a rattan stick.
Luckily, these weapons weren’t put to use as the security quickly stopped the La Salle player while the elder Rivero was seen pacifying the ones holding the chairs.
That was the play immediately after officials tried to restart the match following the first incident which involved Kib Montalbo, Ron Dennison and Aljun Melecio, the first video to surface on social media.
SPIN.ph once again tried to contact La Salle head coach Aldin Ayo and the handler of Ricci Rivero but none has responded as of writing time.
