FAR Eastern University ended a three-match skid with a 14-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-18, 15-13 win over University of the East in the Philippine Superliga Collegiate Grand Slam on Saturday at the Arena in San Juan.
Coming off a five-set loss to Colegio San Agustin-Biñan last week, the Lady Tamaraws vented their ire on the Lady Red Warriors who played without Meann Mendrez due to a swollen left knee.
Czarina Carandang came up with the clinching quick attack as FEU took the win in one hour and 54 minutes.Carandang finished with 14 points off 11 kills and three blocks.
Ivana Agudo scored 11 and made 17 digs, Lycha Ebon added nine markers, while Angel Cayuna made 32 excellent sets on top of five points.
The Lady Tamaraws are in provisional third, out of the running for a place in the finals.
But for Diaz, it’s not about their placing.
Kaya I’m sure marami silang natutunan dito.”
Judith Abil scored 20 and Juliet Catindig added 15 for UE.
UE dropped to a 1-2 record and will face Colegio San Agustin-Biñan (1-2) on Thursday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.
