THE rigodon of coaches in the UAAP is not done as major coaching movements are underway at the junior’s and women’s teams, particularly from the development-aggressive UST Tigers.
Shortly after losing the UST Tigers’ head coaching job to Boy Sablan, former Lady Tigers’ mentor Chris Cantonjos has been named the new mentor of the UST Tiger Cubs, sources say, replacing Ritchie Melencio.
In another development, former Ateneo Lady Eagles coach Heidi Ong has been named as the Tigresses' coach, taking the post of Cantonjos, who will also be part of Sablan’s coaching staff.
Meanwhile, former La Salle Greenhills coach John Flores has already been tapped as the Lady Eagles’ new bench tactician, replacing Erika Dy who led the team to a runner-up finish behind powerhouse NU Lady Bulldogs last season.
Flores also brought with him to the Katipunan-based squad assistant coach Cris Bautista.
